Within the restaurant industry, there’s nothing I’ve experienced quite like working with Eddie and his crew. They are incredible at what they do, and very talented. Stated as cleanly as I can: they know their shit backwards and forwards. Eddie’s team simply executes at a different level than I am used to, and I am not typically easy to impress and very hard to convince. Today? I’m convinced. After having spent the last 3+ months working with him (and 6+ months getting to know him in total) and his AtoZ crew, I can say that Eddie, his operations guru, Katt, and Chef Leon are 100% the real deal.
How it all began… After much discussion with Eddie, a business partner and I took a shot on AtoZ, since we had what amounted to a flailing franchise restaurant business we needed to replace. Now—it wasn’t failing—it was flailing. It just “existed” in that netherworld of businesses that don’t make money…but also don’t lose money. Ultimately for me though, it had to go, and we decided after a LOT of deliberation that Eddie was probably up to the task (but you never really know until you fully commit to working with someone). Well, we walked into the partnership very cautiously—because, again, we weren’t losing $, but were instead existing. So we had the luxury of time to make what we thought was an informed decision.
In partnership with Eddie, we embarked on a blank sheet, wholesale restaurant concept changeover. What I envisioned was flatly terrible relative to where Eddie and his team ultimately took us. We’re about to open a Tacos & Tequila concept that Eddie came up with, and it’s going to be exceptional. You see it. You feel it. And if it doesn’t work? It won’t be for lack of trying and won’t be because Eddie and his crew failed or didn’t outperform in any way. They did. Restaurants win and lose all the time. If you’re looking to stack the odds strongly in your favor, this is your crew in my humble opinion.

I remembered meeting Eddie some 20 years ago when I was in business school at Baruch and decided to reach out to him for some guidance. I'm so glad I did! I can honestly say, my life either would have been much more complicated at best. Do yourself a favor and don’t even start the process of opening a location without calling AtoZ Consulting first. Eddie and his team literally are a dream for any restauranteur. They take the time to sit with you through the conceptualization phase and help with everything from corporate branding, color scheme selection, fonts, corporate identity, and menu creation to identifying the best location for the concept. Eddie is extremely experienced in creating the layout of the store, orchestrating each component of construction and all players involved, making necessary introductions to vendors for equipment purchasing, paper goods, signage, marketing pieces, and food procurement. He was instrumental in helping to bring in the right POS system for our restaurant, setting us up with all third-party delivery services, help to get our website created and interfacing it with an online ordering platform. He and his team are on the ground and in the trenches before your opening to ensure all of the staff is trained and that your soft launch goes smoothly. There is not one other company that I know of that is as knowledgeable, but also rolls up their sleeves execute alongside the business owner to ensure the operation is a success.
